TukTuk just turned seven—and we did not hold back. This wasn’t your average birthday party. It was a full-blown, three-day tropical blowout powered by music, community, and flavour. With the theme “Seven and Sippin,” TukTuk brought the island vibes straight to the heart of the city—and our guests showed up ready to celebrate.
Night One – A Soulful Start with Dema and Shane (May 29)
TukTuk kicked things off on Thursday, May 29, with an intimate, acoustic-style set by Dema and Shane, the crowd-favourite duo from the iconic band Wayo. Their performance was all soul, setting the perfect tone for a weekend of rhythm and celebration. With cocktails in hand and warm ambient lights all around, the night felt like a chill tropical prelude to the madness that followed.
Night Two – Legendary Energy with Cplus, DJ Ze Silva, Rajeev Sebastian & Ashen Perera (May 30)
By Friday, the volume—and the crowd—doubled. Cplus, the legendary band, hit the stage with an energy-packed session that had everyone on their feet. The host— Ashen Perera—kept the energy tight, leading into a high-octane DJ set by DJ Ze Silva, who kept the dancefloor alive deep into the night.
And then came the twist: a surprise performance by the one and only Rajeev Sebastian. The crowd went wild. It was one of those “were you there?” moments we’ll be talking about for years. Rockland backed the night, adding to the punch behind the party.
Night Three – Energetic Finale with Hot Chocolate, DJ Ishan & Joy de Alwis (May 31)
Saturday brought the finale—and it didn’t disappoint. The energetic Hot Chocolate band took us home with a powerhouse performance that had the crowd singing, dancing, and totally losing themselves in the music. DJ Ishan arrived and dropped back-to-back bangers that closed the weekend in pure style.
Guiding the final night with flair and charisma was Joy de Alwis, whose hosting brought just the right balance of hype and heart.
The Experience – More Than a Party
From the lush, tropical décor to the signature cocktails and tiki-bar aesthetics, TukTuk turned into a full-on island escape for the weekend.
This wasn’t just a party. It was a celebration of seven years of TukTuk, a space built on rhythm, connection, and good times. It was a thank-you to our loyal community—and a promise that the best is yet to come.
The night had extra spark thanks to Rockland and Pelican Island, who kept the island flavour flowing.
Around Negombo in a TukTuk – Signature Cocktails
Every anniversary, TukTuk refreshes its cocktail menu. This year, it was a celebration of Negombo’s cities and flavours. Guests sipped on tropical, creative, and bold concoctions crafted to match the energy of the weekend.
These cocktails were specially crafted by Kumar Shanker in collaboration with TukTuk. Here’s his thought behind the creations:
